Having obtained her diplomas (degrees) in voice and in piano, Nunzia Santodirocco began her career with a debut at the Piccinni Theatre in Bari as Lisetta in "Il Mondo della Luna" by N. Piccinni; she thus began a brilliant career that sees she as acclaimed interpreter of the leading roles such as Gilda (Rigoletto), Rosina (Barbiere di Siviglia), Despina (Cosi fan tutte), Adina (L'Elisir d'amore), Serpina (La serva padrona) Adele (Die Fledermaus), Pepi (Wiener Blut), etc..
Over the years, owing to a natural evolution of her voice, she changed to a purely liric repertoire, interpreting the roles of Violetta Valery in La Traviata (Verdi), Donna Anna in Don Giovanni (Mozart), Micaela in Carmen (Bizet), Mimi in La Bohème (Puccini), Leonora in Il Trovatore (Verdi), Nedda in Pagliacci (Leoncavallo); Suor Angelica (Puccini), Cio Cio San in Madama Butterfly (Puccini), Tosca (Puccini), Aida (Verdi), Amelia in Un Ballo in Maschera (Verdi).
She has won several international competitions, including “Cascinalirica” and "Giovani nella Lirica" of Adria.
During her career she has also performed at Opera Theatre of Roma, Petruzzelli Theatre of Bari, Politeama Greco Theater in Lecce, Teatro Sociale in Como, Teatro Comunale in Piacenza, Teatro Sociale in Trento; Teatro "Marrucino" in Chieti; Luglio Musicale Trapanese, Teatro Nazionale in Rome, Teatro Vittorio Emanuele in Messina, Nuovo Auditorium in Rome, "La Sapienza" University in Rome, Theatre du Casino Municipal in Biarritz (France), Television Ukraine, Seoul Art Center (South Korea), Daegu Opera House (South Korea), Tokyo Opera City (Japan ), Hugh Lane Municipal Gallery of Modern Art in Dublin (Ireland); UCC's Aula Maxima of Cork (Ireland); Watergate Centre in Washington (USA), Princeton University (USA), etc. ...
The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent her as representative and acclaimed interpreter of Italian opera where she performed in the presence of Heads of State, Government and Ambassadors of various nationalities in the following countries:
- The Navoy Theatre in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) where she interpreted "Gilda" in Rigoletto and "Violetta" in La Traviata;
- the Tbilisi Opera House (Georgia) as "Donna Anna" in Don Giovanni (Mozart);
- the Jakarta Gedung Kesenian Theatre (Indonesia), where she also held a master class at the Jakarta University;
- Sheraton Imperial – Kuala Lumpur (Malesia)
- The Daniel Sorano Thetre in Dakar (Senegal).
- The Hall of Honour of the Palace of the Chancellery of La Paz (Bolivia)
She has also participated in prestigious international festivals for sacred and ancient music such as the "Pergolesi Festival" and the “Rassegna di Musica Antica della città di Urbino”.
In 2007 she was chosen for the role of "Maria Callas" in the theatrical Callas' Album, represented at the Teatro Sociale in Como on the thirtieth anniversary of the death of Maria Callas, during which she performed some of the most famous arias from the repertoire of the renowned soprano.
Her television appearances include shows such as "Buona Domenica" for RTL (Luxembourg Radio Television), "Unomattina" (RAI 1 Italy), "Opera Club" (RAI International) program conducted by Simona Marchini.
She has recorded the following cd's:
